Pseudochaeta sp. (French Guiana)

Pseudochaeta is another of the Carcelia-type tachinids, with large eyes, but it also lacks the tuft of hairs on the hind coxa, present on Carcelia. It also has a strong row of facial-ridge bristles.

EDIT (09/10/2010): I have found a second specimen virtually identical to this one from Peru.
