An amazing series of photo by Paul Bertner from the forests of Guyana
Paul is a wildlife photographer and adventurer who contacted me a few months ago for tips on how to do serious entomology in the tropics for a trip he was planning. Paul is now trekking through Guyana with his backpack, cameras and laptop, taking photos of the wildlife he sees on his travels. He also reports on his adventures on his blog (Rainforests) and publishes his photos on his Flickr Photostream.
Yesterday he uploaded an amazing series of photos of a tachinid stalking and ovipositing on a sphingid caterpillar, which immediately caught me eye. I have been unable to link his photos in directly so I downloaded a few of the best and cropped/sharpened them.
