Another strange Pollenia-type tachinid (see my photos of similar taxa from French Guiana). EDIT (26/9/2010): This is clearly a Telothyria sp., with branched hairs on the pleurae.

This is a strange little tachinid with a fluffy thorax (the hair has been matted by alcohol in the photos) similar to Pollenia (Calliphoridae). A light brown tachinid with a slight similarity (in my eyes) to the sarcophagid subfamily Miltogramminae … and yes, it does have a strong subscutellum! 😉 EDIT (Monty Wood 26/9/2010): This is another Telothyria sp. – see also here. They all have branched hairs on the pleurae.
