Another medium-sized tachinine tachinid – this time with a white-dusted head. The body is shiny, jet black, there are Peleteria-bristles and the tip of the abdomen is slightly fuscous. Det: Monty Wood, 2010.

An interesting member of the Tachininae – this time with shaded wings, which is quite an unusual feature in this subfamily. EDIT (Monty Wood, 26/9/2010): This is a Deopalpus sp.

An interesting taxon with bare eyes, bare arista, hairy r4+5 and a hugely concave post-angular vein with a quite large appendix. Also has other distinctive features, such as a hairy parafacial, humeral-callus triangle, projecting mouth edge and quite a shiny black ground colour.
