Here are a few stacks of European tachinids make by Dave Dare the other day. The specimens are all on loan from the NHML (Armenian specimens) and ZMMU (Russian & Azerbaijani specimens) so I was keen to record some of the more interesting/rare things before either sending them back or passing them on to other experts.
The Macquartia spp. are just all new to me and I am fairly confident about the identifications. Genera like Chrysosomopsis, Halidaya, Germaria and Opesia are all phenomenally rare (or at the very least very local) in western Europe. Microsoma is rare but probably under recorded due to its size (about 2-3mm).
